Biswabharati Club beat Cuttack city opponents Rising Students by 31 runs in the final to win the Scan Health & Fitness Twenty20 Cup Cricket Tournament at the floodlit Unit-II Girls High School ground in Bhubaneswar tonight.
The champions received Rs 10,000, while the runners-up took home Rs 7,000. Ranji all-rounder Payas Ranjan Sinha (Biswabharati) bagged a double by winning both the man of the match and man of the tournament awards. City Mayor Mihir Mohanty gave away the trophy and cash prizes at the closing function.
Brief scores: Biswabharati 135/8 in 20 overs (P R Sinha 62, Sambit Mohanty 29; Santosh Sethi 4/27) beat Rising Students 104/10 in 16.4 overs (Biplab Samantaray 25, Rajesh Sethi 20; Prashant Sahu 3/13, Partha Samal 2/7, PR Sinha 2/21, Sanujit Samal 2/24).
